A community project with a clear mission: that language should never be a barrier to accessing everyday services in Austin.
Austin has nearly 320,000 Spanish speakers, and many rely on Spanish to make decisions that matter: healthcare, education, paperwork, food, recreation. Conexión ATX is a project that seeks to address that reality with respect.
Many Hispanic people in Austin look for businesses where they can communicate in Spanish, but that information is scattered across Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, personal recommendations and local groups. There's no single trustworthy bilingual place to find it.
Conexión ATX organizes Hispanic businesses and businesses that serve in Spanish into a simple, bilingual, area-focused platform. Today it's a functional prototype; the next phase is validating it with a partner organization and launching a pilot with verified businesses.

Transparency about how we build the directory
When a business appears with the "✓ Verified" tag, it means its basic data (name, address, phone) matches at least two independent public sources at the time of verification: official website, Google Maps, Yelp and/or info shared by the owner.
"Verified" does not mean we certify service quality, current licenses, or that there's any commercial relationship between Conexión ATX and the business. For professional services (medical, legal, financial) we always recommend verifying credentials directly with the provider.

The next level — a bilingual assistant that knows your neighborhood
Imagine asking in Spanish or English, just like you'd ask a friend who knows the neighborhood: "I want to go out this afternoon with my family, $40 budget, what do you recommend?" The assistant responds with real businesses from the directory, location, hours and active deals — updated by the businesses themselves.
From prototype to platform — step by step
This page is our concrete proposal for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC). Conexión ATX is not trying to replace the work you already do — on the contrary: we want to be a digital tool that supports your mission of visibility, economic development, and direct connection with the community.
If you're open to exploring a collaboration, below we detail what the project would bring to the chamber, its members and the community — and what we'd need from you to launch a pilot together.
Designed to add to the chamber's three areas of focus
"A trusted advocate and resource for the Hispanic business community — powered by dedicated leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals working to strengthen Austin's vibrant economy." — GAHCC's mission (gahcc.org). Conexión ATX wants to be a digital tool in service of that mission.
Four areas where your support would make the difference for launching the pilot
Three audiences that complement each other
If a Hispanic family finds service in their language, they come back and recommend. That would bring traffic to the business. If the business sees value in appearing, they'd have a concrete reason to join GAHCC. And the chamber would gain strength to advocate for the community. That's why we believe it only works if all three win.
